EGA will draw power from the grid through a long-term supply agreement that will make it the largest single user on the grid, creating predictable and stable electricity demand. The partnership with EGA will allow Ewec to develop more solar power generation capacity in the Gulf state. Projects resulting from the initiative are expected to output more than the country's current total installed solar capacity.

Ewec has overseen the development of two of the largest solar PV projects in the world - the Noor Abu Dhabi and Dhafra PV projects in the UAE. Taka and Abu Dhabi-based renewable energy company Masdar holds a 60 percent stake in Abu Dhabi's 2 gigawatt Al Zafra solar photovoltaic project, in which Ewec will undertake power supply.
