The Tunisian government has approved several solar projects with a combined capacity of 500 MW and a total investment of 1.2 billion Tanzanian dinars (407.9 million/€374.9 million).

In 2019, the projects were awarded to a consortium of Norwegian renewable energy producer Scatec ASA, France's Engie and Moroccan energy company Nareva, as well as AMEA power LLC and TBEA Xinjiang New Energy Co., Ltd. part of the country's franchise system.

Vláda na svém webu minulý týden uvedla, že nové solární elektrárny budou umístěny v Kairouanu (100 MW), Tataouinu (200 MW), Tozeur (50 MW), provincii Sidi Bouzid (50 MW) a provincii Gafsa (100 MW). . Nový projekt pomůže Tunisku snížit dovoz zemního plynu o 6 procent a snížit náklady o 130 milionů tanzanských dinárů.

The North African country needs to add about 3.8GW of green power capacity to increase its share of renewables to 30 percent by 2030. (1.0 Guilder = 0.339/€0.312)
